Olympiakos Piraeus vs Aston Villa Epicsports

Aston Villa face a daunting task when they visit Olympiakos in the second leg of their Europa Conference League semi-final on Thursday. The Villans trail 4-2 from the first leg and need to win by three goals or more to progress to the final.

Villa's hopes of reaching the final were dealt a major blow in the first leg, as they were comprehensively beaten by Olympiakos in Birmingham. Ayoub El Kaabi's hat-trick put the Greek side in a commanding position heading into the second leg.

Unai Emery's side will need to produce a remarkable performance in Piraeus to overturn the deficit. They will need to win by two goals to take the match to extra-time and penalties, but even that could be a big ask for a Villa team that has been out of form.

Villa have won just one of their last five matches in all competitions and are in danger of finishing an impressive season on a sour note. Their recent form suggests that they will struggle to match Olympiakos, who are unbeaten in their last four matches and have had the luxury of an extended break with no Greek Super League fixture at the weekend.

Olympiakos, meanwhile, are bidding to become only the second ever Greek club to reach the final of a major UEFA competition. They will be confident of avoiding defeat on their own patch and booking their place in the final.

The odds are stacked against Aston Villa, but they will be determined to produce a memorable performance and reach the Europa Conference League final.
